Youth campaign for safe surfing

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups' u21.hk website has launched an Internet Green Charter to promote a safer internet culture among local students.

The Charter, which is part of a wider Internet Green Campaign, has already attracted students from more than 100 schools.

Young people who sign the charter promise to practice sensible internet behaviour.

The campaign includes seminars for students and computing courses targeted at parents. It is sponsored by Microsoft, the Internet Society Hong Kong Chapter and the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association.

'The internet is boundless and free but we have the responsibility to maintain a healthy and safe online world and to develop a green online culture,' said Dr Rosanna Wong Yick-ming, executive director of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups.
