Firm seeks director of quality for mainland

This company is looking for 'new kids on the block who are into serious business and fun'.

Kids II, an international manufacturing company for baby products and toys based in the United States, is looking for a director of quality to be stationed in Zhongshan, in the mainland.

The primary objective of the role would be leading the company's efforts in product safety, reliability and factory compliance.

Applicants must have at least 12 years' experience in these areas at a senior management level in a US or British buying office.

'This is a senior position requiring an individual with good analytical and sound decision-making skills who is comfortable to work in an environment requiring cross-functional communication across the company's offices in several countries around the world,' the company said. Duties include overseeing the creation and maintenance of stringent product safety and reliability specifications, identifying potential hazards during the product development phase, co-ordinating necessary validation, auditing, risk assessment and testing of systems, products and components, reviewing consumer data and representing Kids II for external communications.

A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline with a detailed understanding and application of mandatory standards is a must.

Those with master's degrees would be preferred.

Excellent communication and presentation skills in English are a must, and fluency in Putonghua and Cantonese would be a plus.
