More than 60 per cent of 250 people surveyed by medical sector legislator Kwok Ka-ki had not signed an organ donation card, although the public was more aware of the need for organ donations than it was 10 years ago. The survey also found 42 per cent of interviewees agreed Hong Kong should follow other places and switch to an opt-out rather than opt-in organ donation system. More than 80 per cent said the government did not do enough to promote organ donation. Dr Kwok said organ donor details should be included on identity cards.
