TB travellers tracked down

The Department of Health has tracked down three passengers who travelled to Los Angeles from Hong Kong on December 8 on a Cathay Pacific flight with a tuberculosis sufferer on board, a spokesman said. The three were among five passengers who had previously stayed in Hong Kong and one of them was located in Los Angeles. The health department is trying to reach the other two.

Arbitration secretariat welcomed

Secretary for Justice Wong Yan-lung has welcomed the decision by the International Chamber of Commerce to open a branch of the secretariat of its International Court of Arbitration in Hong Kong. The branch secretariat, the first in Asia, is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.

Voter registration drive coming

A HK$33 million government publicity drive for voter registration will be launched next month. While the voter population is 3.3 million, covering 71 per cent of eligible electors, the registration rate for the 18-20 age group remained low at 29 per cent, the government said.
