Anything sequined

Matte and colourful sequins reigned at Dries Van Noten (centre right), Christian Dior and the Burberry show.

Lanvin's grosgrain or fabric-tape dress

Alber Elbaz swathed his models in dresses made from metres of ribbon. Mummies have never looked so chic.

A tailored jacket

Wool, canvas or leather, crisply tailored jackets are this year's must-have. We loved Yohji Yamamoto's leather pieces with raw edges (far right).
