Mixed fortunes for bank robbers

A robber escaped with HK$1,000 from the Yau Ma Tei branch of DBS Bank in Woosung Street yesterday morning after he handed a note to a teller claiming to have a handgun. The man is 1.58 metres tall and wore a mask, cap and grey coat. Another robber escaped empty-handed from the ICBC Bank in Castle Peak Road at 12.10pm. The man, wearing a red shirt, drew what appeared to be a pistol in the main hall, prompting staff to press the alarm. He fled before police arrived.
