The first thought that crossed my mind when I saw Rene Holenweger was that he looked efficient, perfectly put together and very busy.
Coming in through the glass doors of Gateway Apartments' Hampton Court, his eyes seemed to take in 100 things at once, from the arrangement of the sofa cushions in the lobby to the
father with a baby carriage struggling to open the door - to whom he immediately offered his help.
It would be an understatement to describe Mr Holenweger work schedule as busy. Every working day, Mr Holenweger wakes up at 6am so he can drop his son off at the school bus by 7am and promptly be in his nearby Pacific Club office at 7.05am.
As assistant general manager of Gateway Apartments and general manager of Pacific Club, which Gateway Apartments residents use, he handles the requisite daily briefings and administrative work at the club before heading over to his Gateway office at 10.15am, at which point he works his way through more paperwork and meetings.
Throughout the day, Mr Holenweger continues to hop back and forth between the club and the apartments, and he juggles staffing issues, marketing challenges, renovation projects, while mingling with the residents and making sure that their ideas are addressed until his day ends at 8.30pm.
