Management promises Gigi Leung the world for her 32nd birthday

Gigi Leung Wing-kei celebrated her 32nd birthday on Tuesday in a 'Big' way. The singer-actress announced her switch in management to Mei Ah Entertainment's subsidiary Big Artiste agency at a press conference in Hung Hom, which was followed by heaps of birthday festivities with fans and colleagues.

Industry friends, including Singaporean pop princess Stefanie Sun Yan-zi, Denise Ho Wan-sze, Kelly Chen Wai-lam and Louis Koo Tin-lok, all sent in video congratulations.

It seems one of Mei Ah's goals is to turn Leung into an international star. With that in mind, they presented her with a giant globe-shaped cake - a symbol of their aim for world domination?

'I want to be a film director; I want to make an inspirational film,' said Leung who made the wish after blowing out the candles. 'Now that I have signed with a company that also makes films, I hope they will give me HK$10 million to make a film and I don't think they will say no to me.'

Given Leung's frequent travels recently to Africa (for charities), she joked she should now have some fans there too.

Two close friends, director Joe Ma Wai-ho and singer Hacken Lee Hak-kan, even turned up in person to wish her well. Lee, for one, affirmed Leung's visionary ways. 'Shortly after my son [Ryan] was born, she gave me a baby hat that was too big for him to wear at the time, but Gigi said the hat should be just right for Lunar New Year and she was absolutely correct. The hat fitted my son perfectly then.'
