How to be a good sport without going to the Sevens

So, is there anything to do in town this weekend other than the Rugby Sevens? The answer is yes, especially if your conscience leans towards doing some good. The SPCA is having its Pet Walk on Sunday.

The annual fund-raiser will take place around the main dam of Tai Po's Plover Cove Reservoir from 10am. Registration will start at 9am.

The animal welfare organisation is hoping to raise HK$1 million for its services. In case you're worried the walk might be too strenuous for Fido, the whole hike shouldn't take more than two hours.

Everyone and their canines are welcome. For more detail, contact the SPCA at 2232 5543 or 2232 5540.

Tomorrow, the charity group Friends Unlimited will be visiting seniors at the Yan Chai Hospital's Jockey Club Care and Attention Home in Tsuen Wan and making rice dumplings with its elderly residents ahead of the Ching Ming festival.

The group is looking for extra volunteers to join them on the visit. No, experience in making dumplings is not necessary.
