Defence will win it for us, says veteran

Fiji moved into the quarter-finals of the Cup with the minimum of fuss but it's to be expected as they have their lucky charm in tow. Marika Vunibaka has been in Hong Kong with Fiji four times and has been on the winning side on each occasion. He was part of the side who won the World Cup Sevens in Hong Kong in 1997 and 2005, and the Hong Kong Sevens in 1998 and 1999. The mere presence of the big forward gives the Fijians an added air of confidence. 'It's good to be back here,' Vunibaka, 33, said. 'We're always going to score tries so we were looking on improving our defence. That's what is going to win us the title.' If playmaker William Ryder also keeps producing the goods they'll have an even better chance. Ryder was instrumental in Fiji's wins over Zimbabwe (42-14) and Wales (15-0) that ensured they moved into a last-eight Cup encounter against Kenya.
