Sing Pao fined again over unpaid wages
Chinese-language newspaper Sing Pao Daily News was fined again for delaying payment of wages and annual leave to 12 former employees who were sacked or resigned last year. The newspaper was fined HK$112,000 yesterday after pleading guilty to 28 charges regarding delayed payments of nearly HK$400,000 from September 2006 to October 2007. The employees have since been paid. A representative told Eastern Court the company was debt-ridden.
