Subsidy urged for anti-smoking drug

Doctors have called for the subsidising of an anti-smoking medication shown to be effective in helping people quit. The drug, varenicline, was approved for use in the city in March last year. A study published in The Journal of the American Medical Association in 2006 found it to be more successful than other remedies.
