Zhou Mi clinched the women's singles title at the India Grand Prix Open in Hyderabad yesterday when she upset second seed Lu Lan of China in the final. Zhou (pictured) routed Lu 21-14, 21-14 for her fifth title since she moved to Hong Kong under the government's Quality Migrant Admission Scheme last year. In the semi-finals, Zhou, the sixth seed, defeated Eriko Hirose of Japan 2-1, while Lu overcame compatriot Zhu Lin, the reigning world champion, by the same score. The India tournament was the second-last major competition before the Olympic qualifiers come to an end later this month.
