The Estate Agents Authority will step up checks after a real estate agent was arrested last week for allegedly helping a vice syndicate find premises for brothels. Director of operations Anthony Wong Wai-fung said its officers would improve liaison with the police, passing on details of any case in which agents were suspected of working with vice syndicates. There were 22,088 registered individual estate agents last month, the highest number in a decade.
