Where?

The latest protests took place in Paris on Monday, where security officials where forced to extinguish the flame at least twice before it was carried on a bus to the stadium where the relay was meant to end.

This follows disruptions to the relay in London on Sunday where protesters tried to extinguish and even snatch the torch as it made its way through the city.

Why?

Why are they demonstrating? Activists are protesting against China's policies on human rights and Tibet, especially following the recent unrest in Tibet.

How?

How have officials responded? International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge is very concerned, calling on the national Olympic committees to show a united front to prevent the Games being overshadowed by the protests. Dr Rogge said the protests are 'not compatible with the values of ... the Olympic Games'.

What?

What is expected when the torch comes to Hong Kong? Security experts expect the relay to be met by demonstrations and protesters. A five-hour trial run is said to have run smoothly on Monday night.

Torch-bearers will be surrounded by escorts, security, a medical team and the media, and extra torches will be on hand.

When?

The torch was lit in Olympia, Greece, on March 24. It will pass through 20 countries, including Hong Kong on May 2, before arriving in Beijing for the Olympics opening ceremony on August 8.
