Young Choi pipped at the post

Hong Kong's Choi Ki-ho finished second in the boys' individual road race at the Asian youth championships in Nara, Japan, yesterday. Choi, who will turn 17 next month, clocked the same time as champion Masanori Noguchi of the host country in the 123km race, when they both crossed the finishing line in three hours, 21 minutes and 40 seconds. But the Japanese edged out Choi at the line. Choe Hyeong-min of South Korea was two seconds behind to finish with a bronze medal. Wong Kam-po and three other Hong Kong riders - Tang Wang-yip, Yeung Ying-ho and Wu Kin-san - will start in the men's 182km individual road race today.
