A doctor is being sued in the District Court over a former patient who died after taking drugs he prescribed. The family of Zee Kuo-foong, 83, has filed the writ seeking damages from Ronald Li Sai-lai and his employees, Wong Oi-lan and Kwan Mo-yin. Quality Pharmaceutical Laboratory Limited and its salesman Mar Lick-hang have also been named as defendants. An inquest decided in September last year that Zee's glucose level fell - after taking a diabetes drug prescribed by Dr Li on April 22 - causing complications that led to his death from pneumonia on May 2.
