This position with a well-established and independently run funds management company is diverse in nature and can provide a good work-life balance.

The company is looking for someone to fill a newly created role as a head of finance and operations. Ambition is handling the search.

'This is a good career move for an individual looking to broaden their exposure and leverage their experience,' said Guy Erricker, manager, banking and financial services recruitment. 'The role will enable the department to provide more value-added services to the business and improve the reporting processes.'

Assisting the chief operating officer in managing day-to-day operations of the finance and portfolio administration teams, the experienced accountant with a background in asset management or a funds-related environment will oversee a team of four.

Someone with at least eight years of experience as a financial/fund accountant or finance manager is sought. They should have good people management skills and be hands-on in assisting team members.

A strong leader capable of working in an environment with multiple demands and who is good with training team members would be an asset.

'The challenges will be in improving the systems and cross training the team members, in addition to understanding the complex structure and nature of the business,' Mr Erricker said.
