Retailer seeks quality candidate
A hands-on person with a proven track record in quality assurance is sought to fill a role with a market-leading retail organisation that boasts almost 755 stores in nine countries.
Kingfisher, Europe's largest home improvement retailer, is inviting applicants for the role of quality assurance manager.
This challenging position offers a combination of team and project management, as well as the opportunity to work with numerous cultures and organisations across Europe.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of Kingfisher products and that they meet company requirements.
'This is a key role, as quality is a top priority for Kingfisher operating companies,' said Luc Miroslaw, Kingfisher Asia's head of quality. 'Internally, this role is part of the management of the category and requires involvement in deployment of the business strategy and leading the operational execution of projects.'
Responsibilities range from team management to working with vendors to ensuring that quality is delivered. Applicants should also be capable of working with commercial and supply chains as a team to deliver business targets on volume, on time, and of sufficient quality. Working with customers to define and update specifications and requirements is also a key requirement of this post.
The candidate will also need to visit the supplier's factories on the mainland and in Southeast Asia as well as Kingfisher's retail companies in Europe.
Since its establishment in Hong Kong about 15 years ago, Kingfisher has experienced phenomenal growth.

Candidates should be hands-on, aggressive and rigorous, although a strong customer focus and results orientation is also essential.
'Our staff and customers come from all over Europe and our suppliers are from all over Asia, so it is important that whoever is in this role can build relationships with people regardless of where they come from,' Mr Miroslaw said.
The successful applicant should have a solid technical quality assurance background, with at least five to eight years at manager level.
Since the company places emphasis on individuals who can build relations with a diverse group of people, the selection process will involve contact with a large range of Kingfisher personnel.
'Candidates who can demonstrate how they have made a difference, or added value to their previous organisations, will stand a better chance than those who just tell us about their previous work experience,' he said.
