A City University student has won a special mention in a film award for his work exploring his relationship with his father. Wong Wai-nap, 21, a Year Two student from the school of creative media, won the honour in the student division of the Third Fresh Wave Short Film Competition. Mr Wong's 30-minute video, entitled Distance, is loosely autobiographical. It is a redeeming story about a student and his poor, depressed fishermen father, and how they manage to bridge the gap in their relationship. Mr Wong directed 10 classmates and spent more than three months producing the video.
