Sporting chance for an expert in relocation

Taking on this job will mean helping move homes for this organisation dedicated to identifying, developing and nurturing sports talent.

The Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) seeks a project manager to help in the wake of its move from its temporary headquarters at Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village in Ma On Shan to its original location in Fo Tan, which is being used as the venue for the Olympic equestrian events.

Both venues are in the New Territories.

This person will also synchronise the relocation process with the redevelopment project.

The candidate, who should be a qualified member of one or more professional bodies in architecture, civil engineering or surveying with substantial experience, will co-ordinate the move with internal and external parties, so excellent interpersonal skills are a must.

Other duties for the applicant include monitoring and detailing the existing structure for future reference and reinstatement, development of logistics and relocation process, and ensuring processes are properly executed, recorded and maintaining proper documentation.

The HKSI needs someone with at least 10 years of relevant experience in facility or property management to undertake this mammoth task, so experience in relocating large facilities will be a distinct advantage.

Familiarity with relevant local regulations and legal requirements is important for this job so that the candidate can monitor the relocation process to make sure it is within the agreed time frame, quantity and quality standards, as well as legal requirements.

Fluency in English and Chinese are required.
