Hotels recognised the allure of residential design years ago. Offices are now doing the same, a fact not missed by Teknion, whose District systems borrow from modern European residential furniture and employ natural veneers, glass, painted wood and anodised aluminium. Noting that work stations are coming down in size, the company's designers have produced a collection of cabinets, desks and partitions that make the most of limited space. A highlight is its use of credenzas, which increase work surfaces and double as visitor seating.
