Some 19 per cent of parents with young families in Sham Shui Po said they had no time to play with their children, according to a Hong Kong Christian Service survey. The group polled 621 parents and found more than 30 per cent spent less than seven minutes playing with their children every day. About 80 per cent said they did not encourage their children to play with them. The group said playing developed a child's oral and communication skills.
