Vivienne Westwood The summer collection, called 56, is a creative response to the British government's proposal to hold terror suspects in jail without trial for 56 days. Some feature abstract graphics reminiscent of animal heads and pagan rituals and symbolise Greek culture, the basis of western civilisation. For Women the collection is also about sex and was inspired by portraits of 17th-century prostitutes swathed in linen, taffeta and silk. For men the theme is an art lover from England on a grand tour of Italy in summer. There are clothes for every occasion: visits to a museum, an archaeological site, the theatre, the beach and a disco.
