Bags, bags, baguettes

Fendi Spring-summer 2008 sees the release of three ranges of bags: reworkings of the 1990s Fendi Baguette, the Doctor B range and the Selleria collection. The Baguette, designed in 1997 by Silvia Venturini Fendi and meant to be worn under the arm, was inspired by the casual elegance of French women as they leave a boulangerie. The Baguette now comes in a range of sizes and with a detachable strap so they double as clutches. They also come in a plethora of colours and materials, from crocodile and denim to mink and pony skin, accompanied by pearls, beading, sequins or gold thread. Doctor B adds a flamboyant touch to the traditional doctor's bag. They are in calf, goat and lamb skin and feature animal print and flower patterns or colourful shadings. They come in two sizes, the classic version with a shoulder strap and a larger bag with two short handles, and display the iconic Fendi aged brass B Buckle on both sides. In the Selleria collection, the Cuoio Roma leather glitters from being perforated by a plate covered in gold laminated foil. The bags feature Scooby-doo handles made from woven leather straps. They come in a range of elegant neutral shades, from black to snowy white.
