Tell your mother you love her

This Sunday is Mother's Day. Perhaps you are wondering how you should celebrate it.

My mother is a housewife and she focuses on taking care of the family.

At the moment, I really have no idea about celebrating her birthday or Mother's Day. I don't want to do what most people do - go for dim sum or have dinner at a Chinese restaurant. That's so boring.

Sometimes simplicity is best. I believe the perfect gift is to show your mother how much you love her.

By making her favourite dishes, you can show your mum how much you appreciate what she does for you.

This kind of celebration calls for preparation and hard work, but you will find that it's worth the effort.

Thank you for your letter, Ka-lai. It's easy to take our mothers for granted - they look after us, cook for us and teach us about life.

But how often do we stop to think about how much work they put into motherhood? Mother's Day is the perfect opportunity to express our gratitude.

But we shouldn't wait for that one day a year to say thank you.

Take the time to think about everything your mother does for you every day, and try to think of ways to make her life easier. It could be something small, like tidying your room before she asks you to. Or it could be something big, like planning a special day out.

However you decide to celebrate this Sunday, remember it's important to show her you love her every day.
