Man in chopper attack sought

A middle-aged man is being sought by police after an employee of a mahjong parlour was chopped on the abdomen and legs at the junction of Ivy and Oak streets, Mong Kok, after work at 11.55pm on Sunday. The 54-year-old male victim was in a serious condition in Kwong Wah Hospital. Police said the attacker and victim had a dispute in the mahjong parlour earlier.

Trio assaulted in car

Four balaclava-clad men with knives smashed the windows of a car and attacked three men inside on Tai Shu Ha Road East, Yuen Long, at about 1am yesterday. A 24-year-old man was in a stable condition in Pok Oi Hospital last night and the other two had been discharged.

Employer held for beating helper

Police arrested a 41-year-old man for beating his domestic helper in his flat in City One, Sha Tin, at about 11.45am. The Indonesian woman, 24, was treated at Prince of Wales Hospital.

Taxi pair hurt in collision

A taxi driver and his passenger were injured when a truck ran into the back of the cab near Lam Tei on the Yuen Long Highway, Tuen Mun, shortly after 8.30am. The two men, aged 47 and 51, were treated for minor injuries at Tuen Mun Hospital. The 30-year-old truck driver was unhurt.

Reckless van driver hunted

The driver of a delivery van is being hunted by police after the van mowed down a 6-metre stretch of railings on a pavement in Tai Loong Street, Kwai Chung, at 12.40am yesterday. The van driver left the scene in his vehicle before police officers arrived.
