Panerai continues to enhance the sports car brand with new racy models with multiple functions

A longstanding co-operation between sports car manufacturer Ferrari and watch producer Panerai has resulted in watch designs that are innovative and preserve the time-honoured traditions of the brands.

The new Ferrari Chronograph pink gold 45mm is powered by the Minerva 13-20 movement, originally manufactured in 1940. The movement was upgraded and technically modified to fit in the new model. The hand-wound mechanical watch also has anti-shock functions.

The two brands continue to adhere to the tradition of ensuring that the watches produced are loyal to their characteristics. From the Ferrari Chronograph, one can identify the distinguishing features the watch shares with the car manufacturer. The designs are guided by the graphics and features of Ferrari cars. The watch highlights red hands, two circular counters at the 9o'clock and 3o'clock positions, luminous numerals, black dial and pink gold square case.

The dial, which has a tachometer scale, is covered with anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The crown is engraved with the sports car's prestigious prancing horse logo. The word Ferrari is at the 12o'clock position.

The sporty watch has a 42-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 100 metres. Two straps - one in hand-sewn alligator skin and another in rubber - are available. The collection is offered in a limited edition of 50 pieces.

The Ferrari Chrono Monopulsante 8days GMT is tailored for watch lovers seeking multiple functions.

Dressed in black with a steel bezel, the watch has a 60-minute scale with Arabic numerals at each five-minute mark. The tachometer scale is on the outer edge of the dial. The power reserve indicator is at 6o'clock and the minute counter at 3o'clock. A second time zone is indicated by a central hand and the 24-hour indication is at 9o'clock. All these functions are simply controlled by one button.

Featuring a generous 45mm case, the watch's vintage design is a reminder of old racing cars. The small seconds, minute counter, central chronograph seconds and power reserve hands are all in an eye-catching racy red.

Another new watch, the Ferrari 10 days GMT, is for frequent travellers.

The automatic mechanical watch has a legible calendar and a second time zone indicated by a central hand, and day and night indication at 9o'clock. The baton hour and minute hands, and the arrow which shows the second time zone, are luminous. It has a power reserve of 10 days.

The black leather strap highlights horizontal shaping, an idea borrowed from the Ferrari sports car interior design. The strap's inner lining is in yellow, one of Ferrari's hallmark colours.

A strong watch powered by Panerai's precision movement, the model's back and bezel are made of steel.

The timepiece's features are reminiscent of the famous Ferrari 250 GTO manufactured in 1962. The sports car won many racing victories and had beautiful curvy lines.

The Ferrari 1/8th second watch has all the major functions of other Ferrari watches with an exclusive 1/8th second dial at 9o'clock. The sporty watch comes in a limited edition of 300.
