Students at Canadian International School are hoping to help kick poverty into touch this evening with a fund-raiser to boost awareness of the plight of the city's homeless. Kick-Off Poverty's marathon five-hour programme includes a sponsored football tournament involving Dawn Team, a local team of homeless players. A mock-up of a cage home will show visitors how some of the city's poorest residents live. The students acted after learning that 1.25 million people in Hong Kong lived below the poverty line. The events kick off at the school's Aberdeen campus at 4pm, entry HK$15.
