Barge worker injured by wire rope

A 59-year-old mechanical worker was injured when he was hit by a wire cable 1.3cm in diameter while working on a barge moored in waters off Pun Shan Shek, near Ma Wan, at about 2pm yesterday. The worker, whose surname was given as Leung, suffered head and chest injuries in the accident. He was conscious when taken to Princess Margaret Hospital and was discharged after treatment.
