Coloured stones add unique sparkle to show

Riding on last November's impressive sales results, the Fine Western and Jadeite Jewellery Auction will not only offer a wide range of important jewellery and jadeite pieces, but it will also meet the market's rising demand for gem-quality coloured stones.

There are more than 160 lots on offer, with an estimated value of HK$40million. As the true connoisseur who seeks out one-of-a-kind gems and fine crystals would say, 'this is truly something unusual'.

Highlights include Lot 864, a 10.71-carat light pink diamond ring with VVS1 clarity estimated at HK$5million to HK$6million, and Lot 778, a Tiffany & Co. 14-carat Burmese spinel and diamond ring valued at HK$390,000 to HK$490,000.

Lot 854 is a 35.93-carat Sri Lankan cat's eye chrysoberyl. Its size, sharp cat's eye effect and colour variety make it a rare gem estimated to sell for HK$2.2million to HK$3.2million. Lot 788, a 3.92 carat Burmese unheated ruby ring is another beautiful piece which experts believe will sell for HK$1.8million to HK$2.2million.
