A two-month consultation on the proposed escalator link in Central and Western District started yesterday. A two-way covered escalator would be built to connect Central Street in Sai Ying Pun to Third Street, Ying Wa Terrace and Bonham Road.  Stairlifts  would  also be built for those in wheelchairs. Footpaths and staircases along the streets would  be closed temporarily for construction.
