Former Olympic medallist Sun Jin earned a bronze with partner Zhang Rui in the women's doubles at the Korea Open in Daejeon yesterday after representing Hong Kong for the first time. Sun, 28, who won doubles silver for China at the 2000 Sydney Games, and Zhang advanced to the semi-finals before falling to mainland pair Guo Yue and Li Shiwen, 4-1. All other Hong Kong interest in the tournament ended yesterday, with men's doubles duo Tang Peng and Jiang Tianyi thrashed by top-seeded mainland pair Wang Hao and Wang Liqin 4-0 in their semi-final. In the women's singles, both Tie Yana and Jiang Huajun crashed out in straight games in the quarter-finals.
