Louise Goldin

Who created it? British designer Louise Goldin started her eponymous knitwear line before she even completed her education at London's Central St Martin's College of Art and Design. Her graduate collection was immediately picked up by Selfridges department store in 2005. Since then, her collections have earned numerous accolades, including the 'new generation' award and the Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award for fashion and textiles. She has also collaborated with stores such as Topshop on capsule collections. She continues to show at London Fashion Week while her knits have been spotted on celebrities such as Mary-Kate Olsen.

Why we love it? Goldin loves to experiment with knitwear, making the boring staple super sexy. Covering a broad spectrum of colours and shapes, her clothes redefine sweater dressing with well-cut styles that are ultra comfortable. Her first proper runway collection, for spring this year, featured multicoloured, body-conscious knits in hoodies, romper suits, tunics and mini-dresses.

What we'd pick? The blue colour-block mini-dress with interesting cut-outs (far left; HK$8,995) would turn heads. If casual dressing is more your speed, opt for her vibrant red, orange and pink bat-wing hoodie (left; HK$6,595).

Where can you get it? Louise Goldin is available at Maria Luisa, shop 211, Lee Gardens, Causeway Bay, tel: 2907 2028, and Harvey Nichols, The Landmark, Central, tel: 3695 3388.
