Six arrested in anti-drug drive

Police arrested six people in a two-day operation against drug trafficking in Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai. Officers from Yuen Long district, including from the anti-triad and tactical units, arrested a boy, 13, and five men, aged 18 to 57, at various locations over the weekend. Ketamine, methadone and Ice worth HK$2,000 were seized. Two men were charged with drug trafficking and will appear in Tuen Mun court today. The others were released on bail.

Police hurt in crash

Two police officers were injured when their van crashed in Hung Hom. The vehicle was going north on Hong Chong Road when it swerved to dodge a vehicle cutting into the lane and hit a road divider at 4.40am. The 29-year-old driver and a 38-year-old officer were injured.

Female officer commits suicide

A 31-year-old police officer killed herself by burning charcoal in a Yau Tong flat. The officer, surnamed Cheng, was found in her flat in Chak Mei House, Yau Mei Court, with burned charcoal at about 10am. She was confirmed dead at the scene. Police said a suicide note was found.

Man killed at container terminal

A man was killed by a reversing crane at container terminal No8 in Ngong Wan Road, Stonecutters Island, at 6.15pm.
