Queen Elizabeth Hospital has set up a taskforce to investigate an incident in which up to 43 patients' blood test results were read incorrectly on June 5. In a press statement issued last night, the hospital apologised to the patients and said it believed the error had had minimal impact on their health. The hospital said that if human error were found to be responsible for the mix-up, it would not rule out taking action against those concerned.
