Motorcyclist dies in crash

A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his vehicle ran into a hillside in Tai Po yesterday. He was driving along Bride's Pool Road near Wu Kau Tang Road when he lost control of his bike at 5pm. He was declared dead at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital.

Police target bad driving

Police will run a two-week citywide driver safety campaign from today targeting drivers of public service vehicles and goods vehicles and taking stringent enforcement action against traffic offences. The public is also encouraged to report bad driving to police.

Autopsy to be performed

An autopsy will be conducted today on the body of a 26-year-old man found in Lam Tsuen River, Tai Po. The man's family said they had last seen him on Saturday.

Man survives suicide bid

A 78-year-old Sheung Wan man was in Queen Mary Hospital last night recovering from chopper wounds he inflicted on himself. He was found in a pool of blood on a staircase of a building on Hollywood Road near Tung Street at 11am. A suicide note said he had a health problem.

Suspected bookmaker arrested

A suspected offshore horse-racing bookmaker was arrested in Tin Shui Wai when police raided a restaurant in Tin Chak Shopping Centre, Tin Chak Estate, at 4.30pm. The man, 39, was arrested with betting records worth HK$150,000.
