Guerlain's creative director Olivier Echaudemaison offers some advice on how Hong Kong women can improve their makeup:

'The most challenging part about being a creative director is to be innovative each season, to [introduce] new products, new colours and to always keep women in mind when creating.

'I gather my inspiration from women around the world - from their natural beauty and style.

'Hong Kong women's makeup style isn't bad at all. They love fashion and they have style. They seem to have good skin, but they're too shy for eye makeup. They could do with more eye-shadow and a touch of blush on the cheeks.

'I love red lipstick [or red gloss] for a night-time party. What is important is the quality of the products, so every woman can look great without being a makeup artist.'
