Away from it all

Last Sunday young photographers Tai Yuk-hung, Ivan Wong Chun-yuen, Wong Man-wa and Katherine Chau Sau-kuen set out to capture the vitality and rustic charm of Tuen Mun. The participants gained a better understanding of the new town and its community. As part of the Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation's project 'Through Our Eyes', the District Focus series - jointly organised with Young Post - will explore nine districts of Hong Kong through interviews with residents and snapshots of the area's landmarks. Starting today, Young Post will publish articles on the districts and the participant's photographs every Thursday throughout the summer. The unique images on this picture spread capture the students' impressions of Tuen Mun, and explore how this outlying district has evolved into one of the most vibrant new towns in Hong Kong.

The photos were taken by participants in 'The Through Our Eyes' programme set up by The Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation: Tai Yuk-hung, 17, Catholic Ming Yuen Secondary School; Ivan Wong Chun-yuen, 17, Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College; Wong Man-wa, 16, The Church of Christ in China Kei Long College; Chau Sau-kuen, 15, Ho Ngai College (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen)
