Alumni from the eight American Ivy League schools - plus a few peers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Ivy Ball, with a Silk Road theme night at the Grand Hyatt Ballroom on June 21.

The tradition began in 1989 for graduates and supporters of Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth College and the University of Pennsylvania. With 550 people attending, it was the biggest party in the event's history. Numerous alumni and guests arrived in Indian, Middle Eastern and Chinese costumes. Attendees included Michael Asuncion, Peter Stern, Ronna and Paul Heffner, Gallant Nien Jar-ling, John Kaaiohelo, Vidya Venkataraman, Chiu Yue-ling and Michael Garrow.
