US rockers call off next month's gig

Bad news if you've bought tickets for Panic at the Disco's show. Promoter Lushington Entertainments said the August 12 gig had to be cancelled.

'Due to circumstances beyond their control, Panic at the Disco regret that they are unable to perform in Hong Kong. The band extend an apology to their fans in Hong Kong and promise to return in the near future.'

But the press release didn't explain what the circumstances were. It also didn't say whether the Las Vegas-based emo group's other Asian gigs were off as well.

Could it be slow ticket sales? It's hard to imagine they actually have a large base here. Put it this way: name one song or video by the band you've heard or seen on local radio and TV stations.

Tickets will be refunded through the original mode of payment. So, if you used a credit card to buy your ticket, it will be automatically refunded.

If you bought tickets by cash, you'll have to take them back to the Hong Kong Ticketing Box Office at the Convention and Exhibition Centre before August 18. Their hours are Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm.
