A 70-year-old resident of the border housing estate Sha Tau Kok Chuen was bitten by a snake outside her home on Shun Hing Street yesterday. The woman was picking fruit from a Chinese wampi tree at about 3pm when the snake bit her on the right arm. The woman reported to the local fire station and was taken by ambulance to North District Hospital. The snake, whose species was not known, escaped.
