EOC to help worker fired after maternity leave

A woman who was fired when she came back from maternity leave lodged a complaint with the Equal Opportunities Commission yesterday. Ms Chan discussed her case with EOC chairman Raymond Tang Yee-bong. She was notified of her dismissal in a call a week before she was due back at work. Her employer, a toy firm, gave her the official notice the day she returned. The Labour Department referred her to the EOC.
