Jewel merchants Forevermark and Chow Tai Fook jointly hosted a reception at The Peninsula hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui to unveil a stunning 27.16-carat diamond.

Named Glory Star and with an estimated value of HK$60 million, the D-colour, pear-shaped stone is inscribed with an identification number of special significance to the Beijing Olympics: 20080808. The Shining Moments show featured many other pieces displayed by models. More than 200 celebrity guests and media attended the sparkling event, including model Qi Qi and Lisa Lu Yan, Wan Bao-bao, Candice Yu On-on, Tisha Law, Howard Chao and singer Elanne Kong.
