Chinese people love to spend a lot more compared with their western counterparts, according to a survey.

The online survey by advertising agency Leo Burnett interviewed nearly 2,000 people from China, Brazil, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US. It showed that people in China had the highest degree of comfort with their finances and were willing to spend more.

Nearly 40 per cent of the Chinese polled said they would spend more, whereas only 9 per cent of the French respondents would do so. The survey also found out that unlike westerners, Chinese people tend to see money as a way to gain respect and enhance attractiveness.
