A series of events is now under way where visitors can catch some great entertainment and sample the culture
Cirque du Soleil
The world famous Cirque du Soleil  presents its new mega show Zaia  in Macau, highlighting dance, movement and aerial acrobatics. Zaia Theatre,  Venetian Macao casino.  The preview runs until August27  with the official premiere on August28. Prices: HK$388-HK$788 (adults); HK$288-HK$688 (children)
Macau Tower
Apart from the breathtaking Bungee Jump, SkyJump, Skywalk X and Mast Climb at the Macau Tower,  football, archery and mini-bowling game booths and obstacle races will also be offered every Saturday and Sunday this month in the Coca-Cola Family Sports Gala.  There are great prizes and souvenirs up for grabs,  such as memory tiles, darts and chess. Live Olympic broadcasts  at the Olympic Cyber World will also enable visitors to enjoy the latest coverage of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Southeast Asian Food Festival
Sample Southeast Asian cuisine alongside cultural displays and performances. Rotunda de Carlos Maia.  Today 8pm-9.30pm, August16 and 17, 4pm-10pm. Admission is free.
Dance
While the summer holidays alone are something to dance about, visitors now have the chance to watch cultural performances at popular tourist landmarks in Macau. Lion dancing Barra Square, A-Ma Temple, until August 31, 3pm. Ruins of St Paul's, every Saturday, 4pm. Portuguese Folk Dancing Barra Square, A-Ma Temple, 11.30am. Ruins of St Paul's, Sundays, 10.30am. Both performances last about 20 minutes and admission is free.
Handicrafts and folk art
Visitors can participate in the arts and crafts demonstrations and workshops at Lou Kau Mansion. Tai  Embroidery and Tongxiang Blue Calico until August 24. Leather Collages and Zisha Teapot August 26 to September 7. Lou Kau Mansion  is in the Historic Centre of Macau, listed by Unesco as a world heritage site.  It is an imposing building constructed in the style of the Lingnan region. Admission to the mansion is free. 7Travessa da Se, Tues-Sun, public holidays, 9am-7pm. Guided tours Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, 10am-7pm. Arts and crafts demonstrations Tues-Fri, noon-7pm. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, 10am. Workshops Saturdays, 3pm-5pm; Sundays, 10am-noon, 3pm-5pm. Admission for the workshops is 20 patacas per two-hour session.
August Crab Banquet
Performers and musicians present jazz, ballet, ballroom dancing and mime shows to complement the best quality crustaceans. Fisherman's Wharf, daily 2.45pm-9pm.  Trophies and prizes.
