For the third straight year, Thai players dashed domestic hopes at the MacGregor Hong Kong Junior Open Championships in dramatic final-round finishes at Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club. Nacha Patchana, 16, offset a potentially disastrous quintuple bogey with five birdies to claim the boys' title by four strokes from West Island School student and surprise package of the event Shinichi Mizuno. Patchana recorded 73 for a two-round total of 142. In the girls' division, Stephanie Ho lost to Suchaya Tangkamolprasert by three strokes.
