Maggie Q's next project is just the thing for geeky teenage boys

Former Hong Kong model Maggie Q (Quigley) seems to have a knack for landing in blockbusters. This time, the actress has hitched on to a franchise possibly more lucrative and bigger than Mission Impossible or Die Hard. Computer game maker Electronic Arts just announced they've hired Q to be the lead character in their newest version of the action game hit Need For Speed Undercover.

For those folks who haven't progressed past Tetris, the game series first appeared in 1997 and allows players to realistically simulate car racing on roads, tracks and even take on characters in mini-dramas like a police pursuit. Q will be featured in a new version with big-budget, live-action sequences. She will be federal agent Chase Linh, a seductive handler who recruits and guides players as they go undercover on dangerous tasks and compete in races in order to infiltrate a crime syndicate. It all sounds very hokey.

In a press release, Q said: 'I was so impressed by the scope and quality of the overall production that goes into a video game these days. It was like any other day on a Hollywood set; I felt right at home.' Don't get overexcited yet, boys, the game won't be in stores until November.
