Bid to identify body found in sea

A DNA test will be carried out in an attempt to learn whether the nude body found off the Kwun Tong ferry pier on Saturday was that of a 36-year-old businesswoman dumped into the sea after being bludgeoned to death early this month. The body was partly decomposed, according to police. An autopsy will be carried out today.

Patient critical after manhole fall

A 68-year-old man was fighting for his life in hospital after he fell into a manhole in Ho Man Tin yesterday. Police said the man accidentally fell into the manhole and had to be rescued by firemen in Sheung Lok Street, Ho Man Tin, at about 7.30am. He was in critical condition in Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Hunt for hit-and-run taxi driver

Police are looking for a hit-and-run taxi driver and his cab after it knocked down a woman and sped away in Lockhart Road near the junction with Luard Road, in Wan Chai, at about 12.30am. The woman was treated for minor injuries at Ruttonjee Hospital.
