Branching out

American label Joan & David (Elements, 1 Austin Road West, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2196 8298) doesn't just focus on shoes. The brand's ready-to-wear collection is becoming increasingly chic and trend driven. For autumn, it has released a range of beautiful dresses, including a lightweight mohair shift dress (HK$3,200) with a sac back, a la Balenciaga. Details such as accordion pleats also transform a simple black dress into a fashion-worthy frock (left; HK$3,600).

Style statement

French label Kookai has been a favourite with women who want to create a stylish Parisian look without forking out a fortune. For autumn, look for chic staples such as a grey and black cowl-neck babydoll top (above; HK$1,380) that will match perfectly with a pair of skinny black jeans. Available at Kookai, Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2921 2082.

Cultural mix

To celebrate its 10th anniversary in Hong Kong, jewellery brand Folli Follie (IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2295 0028) has released a limited-edition bangle and watch set (right; HK$5,115) that combines elements of Chinese and Greek cultures. The watch features three dials layered on top of each other to produce a geometric look while the bangle has a pattern based on antique Chinese windows. The items are made from acetate in black or white with finishes in white or rose gold.

Comfort zone

Crocs may not rate highly in the style stakes but you can't beat them for comfort. More appealing than the original clogs are the beach flip flops, which come in a range of summery colours such as blue and pink as well as the more practical black and white. The most wearable has to be the Capri (right; HK$298), a laid-back thong style. Available at Crocs, Wellington Street, Central, tel: 2810 0469.
